The music came first. The animation followed, because the images I heard in the songs did not exist yet.
Three EPs since 2014, written between São Paulo and Brussels. I animate with AI because it finally lets one person picture a whole story: generate, discard, cut to the story rather than to a brief. I work the same way when the story belongs to someone else.
Trained in visual arts, I am a researcher of transformative experiences — moving between image, voice and music through a practice built on intuition, experiment and a holistic approach.
My path began in visual arts and turned, during my university years, into a multiform exploration of sound and performance. In 2000, inside the collaborative spirit of Mboitátá, the stage stopped being a platform and became a space shared with the audience.
Mboitátá was a group of eighteen artists — musicians, dancers, actors, singers — who always performed at the same level as the public, and often among it. Our concerts were multimedia shows involving a large number of hand-made figures.
Those years, and my roles inside the Brazilian contemporary art scene, led in 2014 to UMA, my first EP, where music and visual art intertwine in a live setting and turn rooms into a canvas for auditory and visual narration.
the art of sound
Moving from visual art to sound art was not a transfer of skills. It was finding out how connected those two processes already were.
That integration leads to a more dynamic, holistic way of making work — one that uses the strengths of the visual and the auditory at the same time, so the result is richer and asks more of the person in front of it.
The crossing of these disciplines is not a theory I hold. It is the practical thing that gives the work its expression and its impact.

My fourth album will be a visual album.
Everything so far has pointed here: the shared stage, the projections, the archive built into the sound. This time the images are not accompanying the songs. They are written with them, one work in two mediums, made end to end by one person.
